Brian Wilson, the legendary frontman of The Beach Boys, shared the heartbreaking news of his wife Melinda Ledbetter’s passing. On Tuesday, the 81-year-old musician took to social media, writing, “It hurts my heart. This morning, my beloved wife of 28 years, Melinda, died.”
Wilson expressed the deep impact of her loss on their family, saying, “All five of our kids and I are crying. We don’t know where we are.” He emphasized her vital role in his life, noting, “She saved my life… She did everything for us. There was no stopping her. She was one of the strongest women you could meet.”
He further described Melinda as a spirit-filled woman whose mission was to uplift everyone she met. “We will miss her, but we will always remember what she taught us,” Wilson wrote.

Brian and Melinda’s love story began in 1986, leading to their marriage in 1995. They had five children together. Their relationship was notably depicted in the 2014 biopic *Love & Mercy*, highlighting Melinda’s role in helping Brian escape the control of his therapist Dr. Eugene Landy.
